“
Jean Seberg has short hair. It’s almost become a symbol for her. Now she’s letting it grow out a little, and she’s delighted because she hates going to the hairdresser. She is small. She has to be careful because she’ll have a tendency in later years to put on weight. She has a beauty mark on her face and used to have a lot more of them … I have the impression that on certain days she looks like a kid, on others like a very old woman.
Morally, I know her less well. She is nervous, a little worried, rather unstable. Her character is more Slavic than American. Her timidity is often mistaken for coldness. In the social world, she feels out of place. From a professional point of view, she has to be careful to avoid facileness by always playing the same parts - charming little girls in charming little stories. She should really play the kinds of roles that attract her - clowns, easy women - roles that are the opposite of her personality.
